On Saturday, September 19, 2015, our ceremony will be held at Glebe-St. James United Church at 650 Lyon Street South, Ottawa, Ontario. This beautiful old stone church opened its doors to its first worship service in 1924 and has a rich history that reflects the merging of two congregations: St. Andrews Presbyterian and St. James United. In 1929 a Casavant Brothers organ was installed in the sanctuary and this grand organ still "sings" beautifully today. Found in The Glebe, one of Ottawa's most vibrant neighbourhoods, Glebe-St. James retains an active membership, strong community involvement and a Montessori school for children.
We both got chills when we first entered the sanctuary and are honoured that Glebe-St. James United Church and Rev. Teresa Burnett-Cole have welcomed us into their community to be married.
